| Uniqueness At Hamel Substance Abuse Services, we think outside the box … or rather outside the walls. Clients benefit from the innovative components of our unique programs, many of which use traditional a 12-step approach. In some cases 12 step programs are not for everybody, we here at HSAS are well versed in several alternative techniques, philosophies and methods to achieve a healthier lifestyle. Our Mission As the saying goes, getting sober is easy; staying sober is the hard part and the first year of recovery is the most difficult. Research shows involvement in an appropriate 12-step recovery program can be one of the most effective tools in achieving and maintaining recovery. HSAS incorporates supportive 12-Step and other alternative methods into our clients plans for ongoing care. It is our goal to help clients reach sobriety and maintain it. We do this in a number of ways, including specialized educational recovery programs. As clients go through the treatment and education process, they learn that there really are other options. They learn skills necessary to recognize these options and how to incorporate them into daily activities. They may discover that the key to success is not in hiding from situations and relationships that may trigger their addictive behaviors, but that they have the power to make better choices to achieve the healthier lifestyle they desire. Our clients can always stay in touch. We love to hear from our alumni and we are here to offer support whenever needed. |
